Remembering Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi—a fearless journalist, freedom fighter, and patriot whose pen became a powerful weapon against injustice and British oppression. Born on 26 October 1890, he founded the Hindi newspaper Pratap in 1913 and courageously championed the rights of farmers, workers, and the oppressed. A devoted participant in India’s freedom struggle, he joined the Non-Cooperation Movement, endured repeated imprisonments, and served as President of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Congress Committee in 1930. His journalism gave a voice to the voiceless, while his commitment to communal harmony reflected his deep belief in humanity above religious divisions. On 25 March 1931, he sacrificed his life while trying to protect people during the Kanpur communal riots. His legacy continues to inspire generations to stand for truth, justice, courage, and unity.

2PF celebrates the timeless legacy of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, whose ideals continue to illuminate the path from the past, through the present, and into the future.
