Maharishi Valmiki was a great sage and the first poet of ancient India. He wrote the famous epic Ramayana, which tells the story of Lord Rama’s life and virtues. Long ago, he was known as Ratnakar, but after realizing his mistakes, he turned towards meditation and became a wise and kind-hearted sage. His teachings inspire people to follow truth, courage, and goodness. Valmiki’s ashram was a place of peace and learning, and his birthday is celebrated every year as Valmiki Jayanti with great respect and devotion.
