Surinder Kaur – The Goal Machine of Indian Women's Hockey

Born on 12 July 1982, Surinder Kaur is one of India's finest former women hockey players and an inspiring captain.

Hailing from Shahbad Markanda, Haryana, she earned recognition for her exceptional goal-scoring ability and leadership.

She led India to a historic gold medal at the 2004 Hockey Asia Cup in New Delhi and later guided the team to a bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha. She was also a member of the Indian team that won bronze at the 2002 Women's Champions Challenge in Johannesburg.

Surinder captained India during the 2010 Women's Hockey World Cup in Rosario, showcasing her determination on the global stage.

Her outstanding contributions to Indian hockey were honoured with the Arjuna Award in 2009. She remains an inspiration to aspiring athletes, proving that dedication and perseverance lead to greatness.
