Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, born on April 14, 1891, rose from a marginalized Dalit family, facing deep social discrimination from childhood. Despite hardships, he excelled academically and became one of the most educated Indians of his time.
He earned degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics, specializing in law, economics, and political science. Ambedkar fought tirelessly against caste discrimination and untouchability throughout his life.
He was the principal architect of the Constitution of India, ensuring equality, liberty, and justice for all citizens. As India’s first Law Minister, he introduced progressive reforms for social justice.
He championed women’s rights, labor rights, and education for the underprivileged. Ambedkar also founded the Reserve Bank of India conceptually through his economic ideas.
In 1956, he embraced Buddhism along with millions, promoting equality and human dignity. Awarded the Bharat Ratna posthumously, his legacy continues to inspire generations.
