Sergey Bubka — born 4 December 1963. A legendary Ukrainian pole-vaulter, Bubka was the first man ever to clear 6.00 m and 6.10 m, and he broke the men’s pole-vault world record a record 35 times (17 outdoors, 18 indoors). He won the Olympic gold in 1988 and secured a remarkable six consecutive world titles, dominating the sport for nearly two decades.
