The Iron Man of India

Remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the visionary leader whose courage, determination, and patriotism helped shape a united India. Born on 31st October 1875, he was a distinguished lawyer, a freedom fighter, and one of the strongest pillars of India’s independence movement. As a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, he played a vital role in the Bardoli Satyagraha, earning the title “Sardar.” As India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, he led the historic integration of over 560 princely states into the Indian Union. His exceptional leadership laid the foundation for India’s political unity and national integrity. He also played a significant role in establishing a strong administrative framework for independent India. His unwavering resolve, strategic vision, and selfless service earned him the title “Iron Man of India.” In 1991, he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour. The Statue of Unity stands today as a monumental tribute to his extraordinary legacy.

On his birth anniversary, 2PF celebrates the life of a leader whose dream of a united India continues to inspire generations.
