World Stroke Day – Raise Awareness, Save Lives

World Stroke Day is observed every year on 29 October to raise awareness about stroke prevention, early recognition, and timely treatment. A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or when bleeding occurs in the brain. Recognizing warning signs quickly can save lives and reduce long-term disability. Remember the FAST signs: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call emergency services. High blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, and other risk factors can increase the risk of stroke. Healthy eating, regular physical activity, and routine health check-ups can help reduce risk. Public awareness and access to timely medical care are essential for better recovery. Let us spread knowledge, encourage prevention, and support stroke survivors with compassion.
