The creation of TIFRAC in 1960 marked a historic leap in India’s technological journey, led by visionary scientist Homi Jehangir Bhabha. This breakthrough was made possible not just by scientific brilliance, but also by strong institutional support. Under the leadership of  Sir J. R. D. Tata, the Tata Group fostered an ecosystem that encouraged research and innovation, particularly through institutions like Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. Together, they laid the foundation for India’s growth in computing and modern science.
